Sabrina Vega: Coordinator
Sabrina@catholic20somethings.com
Sabrina joined the 20-somethings in February of 2009 and her life has been fantastic ever since. Born in Houston, and a Bobcat from Texas State, she moved to Austin in 2007 for friends and a job and finally found her place with the Catholic community. Her passions include all kinds of dance, musical theatre, graphic design, music, fitness, cooking, traveling all over the world, and her kitties Zelda and Zack Attack. She works as the Graphic Designer and Marketing Associate at Heroic Media, a prolife media nonprofit. She has been involved with many organizations and event planning across Austin, and is blessed to bring her talents to the 20-somethings. She served the 20-somethings as the Social Chair from Fall 2009 until April 2011 when God called her to step into the Coordinator role. Sabrina hopes to continue to bring people together to strengthen their relationships with each other and with God, as she strives to support the Leadership Team and the ministry with all of their needs.
Travis Rinn: Social Chair
Travis@catholic20somethings.com
Travis is a Texas native, born in Houston and raised in Lake Jackson, a town best known for its mosquitoes. He graduated from the University of Texas in 2007 with a degree in computer science, so he probably works with computers or something. Although raised Catholic, he wasn’t always the most spiritual person, but ever since joining the 20-Somethings in April 2010, he has really reconnected with his faith in a big way. Travis is always looking for ways to be helpful, and the 20somethings has offered him a lot of opportunity. In addition, he also enjoys warm weather, cold drinks, and football.
Kevin Klein: Spiritual Chair
Kevin@catholic20somethings.com
Kevin was born and raised Catholic in Wichita, Kansas, but moved to Austin for work in 2007 after obtaining electrical engineering degrees from the Universities of Notre Dame and Michigan. His hobbies include reading, running, weightlifting, and hiking. He really enjoys the supportive and encouraging environment that is present within the Catholic 20-Somethings, and works to strengthen it so that all members will continue to share their faith lives with each other and ultimately grow closer to God in the process.
Matthew Blackwell: Service Chair
Matthew@catholic20somethings.com
Matthew grew up just outside of Austin in Lakeway, TX and was blessed with parents who sacrificed in order to give him a Catholic education from Kindergarten through High School (at St. Ignatius Martyr and St. Michael’s Academy.) After losing his way during college, God gave him a kick in the pants which led him to the Catholic 20-Somethings in late September of 2010. Since then he has enjoyed being a member of a Small Group and was called to be the Coordinator for the 2011 Catholic 20-Somethings Annual Retreat. He has a degree in Applied Sociology from Texas State University and works at a market research firm dealing with lots of statistics. Through his involvement with the Boy Scouts of America (yes, he’s an Eagle Scout), he came to learn of the many graces that one receives while giving back to the community. He can be found
almost every Saturday morning volunteering at the Micah 6 food pantry near UT campus.
