So What Happens When I Turn 30?
What makes the Catholic 20 Somethings unique and special is that it’s a ministry that focuses on a certain narrow age range. The narrow age range allows all members to feel that they are peers to one another and in the same life stage.Even within this age range, there’s a life stage difference between those that are in their early 20s (often just getting out of college for the first time and starting their first full-time jobs) and those that are in their late 20s (who often have worked for a number of years and are starting to think about buying their first house). In order to keep these differences in life stage as small as possible, new members must be in their 20s to join our email list and partake in official Catholic 20 Somethings events such as small group, mass and dinner, and the annual retreat.
Contrary to the fear and worry, existing Catholic 20 Somethings members are not “kicked out” of the ministry the day they turn 30. As our friends, this wouldn’t make any sense. Rather there is a transition period, which may be 6 months or two years, in which that member should look to transition from the Catholic 20 Somethings to other ministries. Just as one gets that antsy feeling of senior year of high school or college when you enter into the mature end of the spectrum compared to your peers, so the transition out of the Catholic 20 Somethings should occur and feel natural. This transition only applies to “official” Catholic 20 Somethings events and of course does not include the informal gatherings of members of the ministry. Members should be fully transitioned to other young adult ministries by the time they turn 32.

Catholic 20 Somethings Alumni Group
A spin-off of the Catholic 20-Somethings Ministry, the Catholic 20 Somethings Alumni Group are for those members or past members ages 28 to 35 who may feel that they have outgrown the 20-Somethings and are in the next stage of their young adult lives. There are currently meeting on Wednesday’s at St. T’s for daily mass and then going over to Father Justin’s Bible Study. There are also plenty of volunteer opportunities (monthly), Spiritual Activities (monthly) and social opportunities (weekly). If you are looking for something once you are past the 20-something’s, we are the group for you. If you are interested in this group, please email James Supak at j_supak@hotmail.com or Matt Balhof at mbalhof@yahoo.com.
