Membership Culture

Catholic 20-Somethings Membership Standards of Culture

As members of the Catholic 20-Somethings, we are called to help support each other and build a culture of life and love, as many parts of the Mystical Body of Christ. “For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 12

Keeping this calling in mind, we as members of the Catholic 20-Somethings should always:

  • Respect the hierarchy, authority and teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Be modest in appearance and behavior
  • Practice temperance and moderation
  • Understand that the group looks to build friendships that will foster spiritual growth among singles, dating and married couples, but not necessarily dating relationships
  • Respect the personal boundaries and spiritual journeys of every member
  • Remain courteous in speech and conduct in order to respect the dignity of every member
  • Avoid gossip, slander, cursing and using The Lord’s name in vain
  • Avoid language, behavior or jokes that denigrate a person’s gender, ethnicity, age, or sexuality; be sensitive in the language and terms that we use
  • Show reverence during spiritual activities, especially Adoration and the Holy Mass
  • Hold each other accountable as we encourage each other to grow closer to Christ

* These standards are not limited to those listed.

These principles are meant to define the Catholic cultural standards of the ministry, and to serve as guidelines to help us support and challenge each other to grow in faith. If any member has concerns or difficulties with these standards, please contact the Leadership Team.
